The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon is more restrained and not as sensual and user-friendly compared to the 2004, but that is more of a stylistic issue, given the structured, cooler-climate, more Bordeaux-like character of many 2005 Napa Cabernets. This wine has about 8% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc blended in. The wine has a deep ruby/purple color and a subtle but authoritative nose of black fruits, licorice, bay leaf, and underbrush.
