The Francis Coppola Diamond Series Merlot is made to be generous and opulent as one would expect from this variety. As with all of our Diamond Series wines, the goal is to produce wines that have concentrated varietal character with wonderful flavor and texture. Merlot has traditionally been used to blend softness and richness into Cabernet blends but now has become one of the most popular red wines of California. Though predominantly Merlot, a small amount of Syrah has been added to increase its personality and to lift the aromatics. The resulting blend is extremely inviting with great richness and interest, demonstrating why the Merlot varietal has become so popular and appreciated. |
