An especially complex Zinfandel, this one starts with cedary and woodsy notes layered atop scents of ripe, slightly dried berries. It is broad and coating on the palate, and ripeness continues as the dominant theme in flavors that combine concentrated fruit, suggestions of chocolate and a hint of spice. Things get a little on the hot side as the wine finishes, but it never loses its way and it comes recommended for nearer-term enjoyment. |
