winemaker's notes: The 2003 Red Meritage has black plum aromas and flavors from the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Merlot, along with a nice level of tobacco and herbal hints from the Cabernet Franc. The rich black cherry and tannins from the Petit Verdot complete the wine. The tannins are smooth and, combined with the medium acidity, will allow the wine to age well for many years. |
